Setup
Note: The Bluetooth FCU was discontinued
on Jan 1, 2022 and the app is no longer updated. Please verify hardware compatibility
before purchase.
Please note that the chip utilized in the Wolverine
Airsoft Bluetooth FCU will not be compatible with
newer Android phones. As a result, we recommend using phones that run on Android 4.3 - 10,
as they are more likely to be compatible.
Install the app, available at www.wolverineairsoft.
com/downloads. Connect a 7.4V LIPO battery
with JST style connector. (Use of other power
sources is not approved and will void the warrant.)
Launch the app. Navigate to the “Scan for Devices” page of the app by swiping left or right. Your
Bluetooth FCU should show up with the name
“Wolverine”. Tap on the device to connect. The
connection status bar at the top of the screen
should indicate that the FCU is now connected by
changing to “Wolverine is now Available” and turning Green.
Note: Bluetooth FCU will time out and turn off
Bluetooth if no commands are sent by the app
for a period of time. If device does not show up
try unplugging the battery and plugging it back in
to re-activate the Bluetooth on the board. The
Bluetooth can also be reactivated by setting the
gun in semi or burst and holding down the trigger for 10 seconds. This will reset the Bluetooth
connection.

Set Passkey
In order to ensure your FCU is secure, the app
will automatically generate a random passkey the
first time you connect to the FCU. However if you
wish to be able to connect from other phone, you
will need to set a passkey of your choosing by navigating to the “Server Settings” Page. A passkey
may be from 1 to 16 ASCII characters.
Change Device Name
To differentiate your FCU from other users of the
Bluetooth FCU, navigate to the Server Settings
page and enter a desired name up to 10 ASCII
characters. Tap “Set Device Name”.

Core Performance
Navigate to the Core Performance page by swiping left or right in the app. You will see three level
bars labeled “Dwell”, “Burst Count” and “ROF”. The
Core Performance page displays the settings for
the select fire stat the gun is currently set to. By
switching select fire states on the gun each state
can be programmed independently.
Set Dwell
Dwell is the length of time the valve is opened for
when the trigger is pulled. The value is measured
in microseconds and can be adjusted by dragging
the indicator up or down. Value is adjustable from
3500 to 12000. Most set ups use a value between 3500 and 6500.
Set Burst
Burst Count is the number of shots fired in a
burst when the trigger is pulled. Value is adjustable from 1 to Full Auto.
Set ROF
ROF is measured in RPS and is adjustable by dragging the slider from 1 to 55.
Lockdown
When programming is complete, tap the “Lockdown” button on the main screen to turn off the
Bluetooth on the FCU. This will prevent other users from connecting to your FCU at all, and it will
also put the FCU into a low power mode.

Tournament Lock
Two independent tournament lock systems are
featured on the Bluetooth FCU. These locks can
operate by themselves or at the same time. The
Absolute Lock out is a simple time based lock
which offers 100% lockdown of all FCU setting --
once the lock is set, IT CANNOT BE UNLOCKED.
Be sure your settings are correct before you
tournament lock! Once set those settings will remain until the time on the clock has expired. Absolute lock is limited to a max of 3 hours. The
Code Lock system is an advanced tournament
lock which allows an event administrator to set a
passcode which can be used to unlock the FCU before the time is up. The Code Lock system has a
max time of 72 hours. Both locks are set relative
to the current time, assuming the FCU remains
powered continuously. The locks do not progress
while the FCU is powered off.
Absolute Lock
To set the absolute lock navigate to the tournament lock page. Use the number bars to select
the amount of time up to four hours. Press the
“Set Absolute Lock” button to set the lock. The
status bar at the top of the screen will indicate
the amount of time remaining in the lock. Additional time can be added to the lock by selecting the
desired amount of added time and pressing the
“Add Time” button again. The max total time for
the Absolute Lock is always 3 hours.

Code Lock
The CodeLock system is an advanced tournament
lock system. It can be deactivated using an administrative numeric code. To prepare the code lock
for use, follow steps 1-3 on a Bluetooth device
possessing the owner’s passkey for the FCU.
1. Navigate to the Tournament Lock
2. Set the desired time for the lock in the numbers bar and tap “Set Code Lock Time”
3. Enter temporary numeric activation key and
tap “Set Code Lock Temp Key”
4. On any Bluetooth device (does not need to have
password access) connect to the Bluetooth FCU
and navigate to the Code Lock page.
5. Enter the Numeric Temp Key
6. Enter the desired numeric unlock code and tap
“Start Code Lock”. Please note that the numeric
code will disappear as soon as you have pressed
“Start Code Lock”, and there is no way to retrieve
it from the app.
7. To deactivate the lock before time expires enter the numeric unlock code and tap “Unlock Code
Lock”.

Advanced Settings
Adjusted Full Auto Dwell
To save air on burst/auto, a parameter can be
set to reduce the dwell time when firing in burst or
auto. The system requires a lower dwell time for
follow up shots in a burst especially at higher ROF.
Adjust the parameter as high as possible without
reducing the performance on full auto.
Analog Mode
Adjustments to the dwell and ROF can be made
with the analog dials on the FCU. These will work
seamlessly with the Bluetooth. Turning the dial
on the FCU changes the setting in the Bluetooth.
During normal operation these serve as relative
fine tuning adjustments. Wherever the dial is set
when a value is set through Bluetooth becomes
the current value. Turning one direction or another makes fine adjustments to the value but does
not offer the full range of values. A pure analog
mode can be accessed by setting the dials all the
way clockwise and rebooting the FCU. The dials
will then act as absolute references the same as
the Bluetooth standard FCU until overridden by
sending a command from Bluetooth at which point
they will automatically revert back to being relative adjustments. Note that both pure and relative analog adjustments are completely disabled
for the duration of any tournament lock.

Passkey Reset
Auto Set Passkey
Upon the Bluetooth app’s first connection to a
new Bluetooth FCU, the app will automatically set
a randomly-generated passkey on the FCU. This
is done in order to reduce the likelihood that users will accidentally connect to the wrong FCU and
modify its settings when other FCUs are present.
Therefore, when connecting with a new phone to
a previously-used Bluetooth FCU, you will need to
enter your stored passkey on the App Settings
page. (If you do not know your passkey because it
has been randomly-generated, please see the section above on setting your passkey.) Enter your
passkey and tap “Correct Stored Passkey”. This
will permanently save the passkey for your FCU
on that phone.
Reset Passkey
If you have forgotten your passkey or need to reset the passkey on your FCU perform the following steps to reset the passkey.
1. Unplug the battery
2. Hold down Trigger
3. With trigger held down plug battery in
4. Continue holding down trigger for 10 seconds
after battery is plugged in
5. See “setting passkey” on Page 3.

Video transcript: what’s up guys this is rich with Wolverine airsoft and we are live at Wolverine airsoft headquarters here in Kingsport Tennessee today I’m what the tech we’re going to take a look at the Spartan trigger board how to tune it what you need to know this will also cover tuning for the quake recoil stock since it uses our Spartan system so let’s jump right in so to get into programming mode the first thing we need to do is get to the battery with the Spartan it’s generally housed in the grip especially when you’re running the recoil stock there’s no room in the buffer tube so let’s go ahead and pull the battery out so with the battery out we’re ready to go into programming mode but before we do that we want to make sure we have everything else set up so we’re going to grab a chronograph now if you don’t have a chronograph don’t worry too much you can test this just like always setting the dwell you can just watch the BB trajectory and you can see when the trajectory starts to drop off major dwells too low next we’re going to load a mag and finally we’re going to get our air tank set up with the regulator set to pressure that we want to operate at before we jump into this this is what we call live-fire tuning with all that because we’re actually shooting as we tuned the gun so put on your safety glasses and let’s get started to boot into programming mode what we’re going to do is unplug the battery and now we’re going to plug in the battery with the trigger held down easiest way to do this is just kind of get it started but not push it in hold it down if so line clicks when you pull the trigger you push the battery in too far now push it together that should put us in programming mode the first thing we’ll notice is that when we pull the trigger nothing happens but when we were released to trigger the system fires so that tells me I’m in programming mode now there are two things we’re going to program in programming mode first is dwell if we are set to the semi-automatic position you’re setting dwell if we switch to the full auto position that will set rate of fire for the rate of fire I don’t really necessarily need the air plugged in but we’re going to go ahead and do it anyway you will be firing the system here so make sure you’re pointed in a safe direction if you’re wearing your safety goggles if I just pull the trigger and release it so our current rate of fire if I hold the trigger down it will modulate in this case the rate of fire it’ll do the same thing with the dwell when we get to that setting but I’m going to do it going to wait until I get to the right fire I want you can see once it got to the highest rate of fire it kicked back down to the lowest rating in the menu and then started back going back up all right I like that setting so I’m done with my rate of fire setting now we’re going to go to dwell and here’s where you want your chronograph if you have one this is where the live fire part of it comes into play what we’re going to do is we’re going to put a magazine in once we’re ready to shoot and then we’re going to go shoot into the chronograph but just like with the rate of fire as I hold the trigger down you can about once every second and a half the system is going to fire a shot with each shot it is reducing the dwell if I wait long enough all right you heard the duck out there the DoubleTap means you’re back at the maximum dwell value just throwing numbers out there let’s say it starts at you know the highest number is 12 lowest number is 3 it’s going to start at 12 right as when you double tap that means you’re 12 then you’re going to step down to 11 10 9 8 keep going down and what looking for on the current event graph is we’re looking for the velocity 2 to start to drop off a little bit that means the dwell is as low as it can be but first we get to the highest setting so I just went through had it tapped quite now I’m at the highest setting and we can go step up to our Chris graph and we can give it a shot all right so we’ll go ahead and put in a magazine and now we are ready to set our dwell so I’m just going to hold the trigger down all right so the last two shots I was right about 315 317 somewhere around there the last two shots went 308 300 that tells me my velocity is starting to drop off so you can just go all the way back around the menu if you want or you can double tap if I double tap quickly it will back me up a step so now I’m back up at 308 309 with this type of system leaving it 5 to 10 FPS below is going to give you maximum efficiency we were 315 though and for maximum accuracy we like to go back up to right before we drop off there we’re at 313 313 so we’ve set our dwell we’ve set our rate of fire all we do is unplug the battery or just leave it sit for a minute or two and it will timeout now we go back in that’s the Spartan programming system live-fire tuning let’s head back in finish up now there’s one other thing you can set on your Spartan FCU and that’s your burst now if you have one of the original Spartans which is the vast majority of the ones out there you have two bursts settings you have full auto and three round bursts with the new Spartan MCU that we’ve just started shipping with the quake and that will soon be shipping with all of the Spartan editions there is a third option which is your is semi auto only so you have for your select fire positions you can choose either semi auto 3 round burst or full auto now we don’t program this in programming mode I am back in normal fire mode and you’ll notice that the battery is inside the gun there’s no need to remove the battery to change this setting all we’re going to do is switch the gun into semi-auto and hold down the trigger for 10 seconds now when we release it we are now in three round burst mode if we do it again for ten seconds go back into full-auto now am i right so now we semi semi if we do it one more time all this dead time Latin and Counting you’re back in full auto that is how you set your burst mode if you don’t know which one you have two easy ways to tell one is just try it and see whether you have three settings or two and the other way you can tell is any Spartan board that was shipped with the quake stock will have the third semi only setting and if you don’t know whether you have the new board or not because you didn’t get the quakes stock then you can look at the board the new version with the three settings has an extra connector on it an extra connector port for the output for the quake stock if you only if you only have the one output for the solenoid then you have the original board so that’s it guys that’s this bargaining edition from Walter yourselves we love this system this is our best-selling system and honestly it’s our favorite for all of our shotguns the majority of our shotguns are on this system it is super simple very very easy and reliable to set up since there’s a process that you can follow it’s very very simple takes like 30 seconds to get set up once you know what you’re doing in addition to that your battery is well protected you don’t your FCU is internal so it’s protected from water damage there’s not a wire harness like you have with an external MCU that you can damage super robust system we love this well like I said our favorite system for all of our shotguns that we run on the field and put through abuse so I hope this was helpful as always if you have questions drop them in the comment section below and we will see you guys out on the field you
Full instructions for tuning the dwell, rate of fire and burst modes for the Premium FCU can be found in the Owner’s Manual. You can also refer to this video for a basic overview.
Video transcript: what’s up guys this is rich with Wolverine airsoft and we are very excited to announce the Gen 2 premium FCU from Walter in Arizona now the original premium FCU is the original FCU that we started with there are some key things that you won’t really loved about it how simple it was and robust and things like that but with the gen 2 design what we wanted to do is keep the things the people liked but then add some new features the programming is now completely tooless so you don’t need a screwdriver to adjust the settings it is done with two little buttons and a simple LED menu so go ahead and plug it in here now to program the FCU what you’re going to do is press both buttons and hold them down for five seconds that will kick you into the programming menu once you’re there you can select to tune either your dwell and your rate of fire or your burst mode select well and write a fire then there’s seven yellow LEDs on the right side of the bar act as a fill bar the higher the level the more that bar fills up so you can program it very intuitively just like you could be the original point but in addition that bar correlates to a table which you have which will allow you to look up the exact values your settings if you want to know exactly what your rate of fire is and you can look that up now if we slide our switch down to the burst programming side of the menu there’s another feature that we added on this board the ability to program image select fire state individually so you have the same select seven select fire states that we talked word honor original FCU but now you can select for each fire state which one you want your program any combination of semi and burst that you want one of the most exciting new features that we’re offering on the gen 2 premium FCU is short detection now the short detection monitors the voltage on the solenoid pin and if there is a short on the solenoid wires which is one of the number one things that people do that ruin their part as they pinch the wires or they somehow sort the system it will sense that sort and will cut off power so that Union won’t fry the board like all of our Epson use the Gen 2 premium FCA utilizes full time sleep in order to minimize power consumption and maximize your battery life it’s also backwards compatible with any existing premium FCU or bluetooth absence of unit now on the firmware side of things a few improvements we made include an improved stiction algorithm as well as changes to the trigger reading algorithm to speed up the trigger reading and maximize the semi-auto rate of fire potential the Gen 2 premium FCU has already started shipping with all premium level engine orders so expect to see them showing up at your local retailer very soon for the full set of instructions check out the instructions document in the description below as always thanks for watching guys.
